Kirkwall

This map is quite difficult due to the small land area and low number of mineral deposits. The land area is small with many islands and hills. I built the map to challenge myself and also to use the Terrain mod to build over water.

Compared to the present-day Orkney Islands, I lowered the water level to connect some islands. I also drained the Loch of Harray to create more farmland, and increased the terrain differences to make taller hills.

You will need to clear the forest and build bridges to connect the islands. You start on the main island but there are other mining areas on the smaller islands.

Be careful not to build over the points where immigrants and traders originate, indicated by the paths that end near the shore.
