[RWI] - V203 Fighter Interceptor

Hi everyone,
As I slowly update the Red Wood Industries fleet and armada, especially in preparation for new series like Space Engineers Frontier and additional Colony adventures (tease lol), I thought it wise to release the iconic RWI fighter, the 203.

Many of you might recognize this fighter from the truly legendary TV franchise, Stargate, in which the “F302” is a Fighter/Interceptor constructed by Humanity aka the Tau’ri, for use in space and aerial combat, frequently deployed from Daedalus-class starships. It’s fitting that RWI makes use of a similarly designed fighter craft vessel. The original version, which has been updated, first appeared all the way back in Space Engineers - Planet Wars. A collaboration between myself and Venom415 (RCSP), we’ve worked together to design a fighter that fits the aesthetic of Red Wood, while also being useful for cinematic videos and some survival warfare as well.

The RWI V203 Fighter / Interceptor was first introduced in 2733, to overhaul the aging Red Wood fighter compliments typically stationed at bases and on starships. Given the effectiveness of the design, and the personal love, Grand Admiral Jack Roberts had his command ship at the time, the RWI Phantom, fitted with 2 Squadrons of V203’s.

The V203 fighters would prove time and time again their effectiveness in not only operating as a part of a battlegroup but also independent squadrons able to defend and eliminate a target.

With the outbreak of The Shadow War in 2735, V203 fighters saw more use in space and aerial warfare, as they proved effective against Shadow designed fighters in 1-1 combat scenarios. A special variant under the name of “Hell-Squadron” was designed and assigned to the RWI Serenity, since launch they have been MIA.
