Because of the size and complexity this is pushing the boundries on the xbox architecture so it's a bit tempermental, if at first you don't succeed just restart your world (and possibly xbox) and try again.
Start with an empty world, with gravity and a flat surface. Higher gravity works better, does not work in space.
Make sure your placement mode is set to gravity alignment (pick a block, go to build menu, check placement)
Paste either in the terrain for a static grid, or above the terrain to keep the spheres as ships so it works properly right away.
If you paste into the terrain all the spheres will become part of the station and it will be necessary to change each ball back to a ship on the outside (the three in the middle don't move anyway so no need to hassle with them)
Turn on and press either arrow... if both spheres fire at the same time it's because the sensors woke at the same time, no need to worry just wait it out and hit either arrow again, it should work properly after that.
Hope you like it, if you do please give a thumbs up, if you have any question or concerns please feel free to leave a comment and I will respond as soon as I see it. You can also lease a comment on the unofficial space engineers club postings where this will be featured...
