Current state of the mod: All of the custom content currently do not work in the actual game (it only works when I am previewing them). You will still get the ModSoldier player class though, and it has access to a lot of the default weapons in the game.


My first coop theater mod for Insurgency Sandstorm. It adds the hidden weapons MP5K and RPK into the game with somewhat working sounds, as well as flashlights and NVGs. There are also some random additions like Tactical Carrier inspired by insurgency source mods.

To install:
- Make sure that you only have security coop playlists in your server
- Install the mod by adding 93591 to your Mods.txt file or command line
- Add the mutator CoopMutator_Security
- I recommend playing with 30 supply points or more (some things in this mod cost a lot)

Example command line:

(You also need an API key set up to use mods in your server. Follow the official community server guide to get it.)


Weapons

  • MP5K submachine gun - fires a little quicker than the MP5A5, but has a bit more recoil and less bullet velocity. Sound is very quiet because I had to use a workaround to get the sound to match the fire rate. Uses MP5A5 reload animations so sound is working, but visually it is very buggy.
  • RPK light machine gun - quite controllable for a LMG, think a galil but with 75 drum mags (the drum looks weird right now because there's one attached to the weapon model). Uses the same reload animations as AKM. The bipod won't work but you can equip a foregrip.
  • Fedorov Avtomat rifle - uses the SKS model. It's basically an automatic SKS with a bit more punch to it. I made it to experiment with adding ammo types.
  • TT-33 pistol - uses the Tariq model. Slower firing than all other pistols in the game, but has some good penetration and velocity. Overall it has similar damage to the security pistols but in a cheaper package with less ammo. (I plan to add this to bots later)
  • Glock-18 pistol - glock but full auto. Mad recoil, less bullet velocity, and costs four points, but it's hella worth it for obvious reasons.
  • SKS has been reduced to cost 0 supply points because it's so bad, even if you spend 2 points on the extended mags it's still worse than the AKM (this is mainly a test to replace an official weapon with a custom one with the same name. This has the main advantage of being able to add new types of magazines that the gun accepts)

Weapon Mods

  • I put a lot of the sights in the game onto all the custom weapons (didn't change the default ones)
  • Flashlights are available on most custom weapons
  • Tactical Sling is available on custom primaries. Slightly increases speed of both drawing out and putting away the weapon. You can also put it on the binoculars to get ready to call support faster

Gear

  • John Wick Carrier lets you carry two pistols and gives a lot of ammo to your pistols. Your primary will get the same ammo as no carrier
  • Tactical Carrier is just heavy carrier but heavier. 9 mags on your primary, 5 on your pistol, 4 explosive slots, and 3 RPGs.
  • Battle Royale Carrier lets you carry two primary weapons and gives you a lot of ammo on both of them. Otherwise same as heavy carrier.
  • Bomb Vest blocks 70% of explosion damage, so you take half the damage of heavy armor (which only blocks 40%). Does nothing against bullets.
  • Juggernaut Armor is very tough and can let you get hit around four or five times before dying unless you get hit somewhere that the armor doesn't cover. It also protects 60% of explosion damage but is very heavy.
  • The hidden NVG in the game has been enabled. It's mostly a meme item right now since it makes you aim down sights super slow and current maps are too bright for it.

Custom Player Class

  • You need to use the ModSoldier player class for now to get all of the mod's features. I will make more classes soon.
  • ModSoldier also acts as commander
