Borgward B 3000
The Borgward B 3000 is a historical truck that began production in 1937. Initially designed for payloads up to five tonnes, it became a significant model during the Second World War. Originally, it included the 3-tonne Borgward G. G. W. truck, available in both petrol and diesel versions. A large number of these trucks were requisitioned by the Wehrmacht. From 1940, production shifted towards simplified 'standard' trucks with a payload of around three tons, leading to the creation of the Borgward B 3000 S/O and B 3000 S/D models. These trucks featured a 3.7-liter, 78 hp gasoline engine or a 5-liter, 75 hp diesel engine, both with six cylinders. To conserve raw materials, the trucks were simplified by removing the diamond-shaped Borgward plate from the grille and replacing the steel cab with a standard wooden cab. While the B 3000 was a competent vehicle, the Opel 'Blitz' V 3000 was considered superior.
